Medical innovations pool at AMTZ to boost healthcare technology in the country
A total of sixteen teams have been pooled in from across eight cities of the country to pitch their health technology innovations at a pitch event on medical technology innovations for incubation support to healthcare technology entrepreneurs at Vizag recently.
This is a relevant milestone as it is for the first time that Andhra Med Tech Zone (AMTZ) group of institutions is providing manufacturing facility and Niti Aayog and Department of Biotechnology (DBT) are funding the pitch event project.
This exercise offered a unique opportunity to enable innovations at a manufacturing zone under mentorship of manufacturers and industry leaders to foresee indigenous manufacturing in the otherwise import dependent medical device sector and reduction of healthcare expenses in the long run.
This pool will help entrepreneurs to make their products market ready as a part of national priority to drive innovation as envisaged in the medical device policy.
Healthcare technology entrepreneurs from Visakhapatnam, Chennai, Coimbatore, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Bengaluru, Gurgaon and Delhi took part in this event.
